More about the Owners of J & M Designs

Jeffrey Evans is co-owner and the backbone of J & M Designs. He is a native of Philadelphia, PA and is the only safety trainer for Bechtel National's WTP Nuclear Facility in Hanford, WA. He also aspires to do motivational speaking, traveling across the country to teach companies "best in practice" safety measures. He is a 20 year veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving in the Persian Gulf war and traveling the world four times over.

Jeffrey has started his own safety training site called "Safety 1st", a division of J & M Consulting© He is currently working on his Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and is OSHA 500 Master certified. Jeffrey also has had several media appearances on his safety training, including the huge statewide closure of Aberdeen Proving Ground's Chemical Demilitarization Facility in Maryland. In addition to working full time for Bechtel National, Jeffrey is a dedicated father of eight, devoted husband, and Deacon at the couples local church in addition to being the youth advisor.

Meet the Artist

Michele Evans is co-owner and the creative soul behind J & M Designs. A native of Washington, DC, dhe holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a double minor in Computer Information Systems and Human Resource Management. She is currently working on her MBA to further her business knowledge and aspires to continue to her Doctorate's in order to teach.

While Michele has worked for many prestigious companies, such as the United States Chamber of Commerce as a Data Analyst, she was inclined to quit the 9 - 5 hustle in order to homeschool two of her three children and become a full time wife, mother and entreprenuer.

In addition to being the sole artist for J & M Designs, Michele has also started HR Services, the second division of J & M Consulting© to consult companies in training, development, employee relations, and recruiting efforts.

While running two businesses, Michele is also a dedicated mother to her three children, financier for two homes, the one in which they reside in Washington and the now rental property in Maryland, a full time student, Deaconess in training at the couples local church, as well as the Director of the children's choir.

The Emergence & RE-Emergence of J & M Designs

Jeffrey and Michele Evans began making gift baskets and candy dishes to give for convenient and fun gifts to family and friends on special occasions in 1998 from their home in Washington, DC. People began asking the couple to create baskets that they could purchase and thus, J & M Designs Gift Baskets was created.

In 2006, Michele was looking for the perfect accessory for a gown. Unable to find what she wanted, Michele went to a local craft store and made a necklace, earrings, ring and bracelet set. The jewelry was pegged “unique” and received rave reviews when people began asking for custom pieces and so, jewelry was added to the designs. Silk flower arrangements were added after Michele decorated the couples’ home with several vases and again, received compliments on her arrangements. With a growing number of designs ideas and lines, the couple changed the name of the company to simply “J & M Designs”.

J & M was forced to take a hiatus after Jeffrey was relocated from Aberdeen, MD to Washington State in 2007 due to his job’s position.

Since its reemergence in April of 2009, with many prayers, and the vision God gave them, J & M Designs has seen explosive growth and development in new products and the introduction of JaM Jewels™ a line dedicated to our eccentric and original jewelry!

J & M operates and sells their designs from their in-home studio located in the Tri-Cities, WA as well as their online gallery and store: www.jandmdesigns4u.com. Their designs are also featured in local boutique's and salons across the Tri-Cities with many national and global opportunities in the works!
